My input on the first month-
All I can say is impressive! A lot of rarities entered so far, and the total species lands at 34. I'm ready for the next 2 months of competition. I think it's going to take 30 to win it this year, but no one knows for sure yet. Stay vigilant guys!
Looks like you're doing well. Congrats on being at the top of the leader board. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteAny particular species that you're after that you haven't caught yet?
Too many to count, I made a list of them and it included 30 more species! I guess the ones I'm currently trying for would be blue catfish, Black Bullhead, then a trip to Fork with Jonathan for a bowfin, then to Austin for a redbreast sunfish, Rio grande cichlid, and a guad bass.Oh and a striper. This is getting hard!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing the Guadalupe. I'm hoping to make it to the Lone Star state for them myself sometime in the not too distant future... part of a personal quest to catch all of the species of Micropterus on fly.
ReplyDeleteI've heard Bowfin can be very tough to hook... but I've never actually caught one. I'd use stout hooks to go after them.
