New Pond

My Grandma moved into a new house this week in a gated community in Dallas which has a few ponds and backs up to White Rock Creek. Of course I immediately wanted to get out there and check it out for myself. I really like it.
A little creek. Saw some bass, bluegill, and some shiners in here.

Channel cat! Saw some and flicked a bugger in front of them. Bingo!

I found some bass busting on fry schools later on. They were chasing around the little schools of baby bass and chowing down on them. A well placed cast meant fish on!

Kinda skinny... I don't care! Fought hard and pretty little fish.

Catfish on the fly, had to be awesome, not to mention the bass, glad you had a great outing. I like what I see on your blog and I think I will join up with your group. Hope you will become one of my followers, because I feel both of our blogs relate. http://btrussell-fishingthroughlife.blogspot.com/

  2. Thanks! I really love getting cats on the fly, sometimes I actually target them intentionally in creeks and smaller rivers. Right on the bottom and moving a lot seems to be the key to getting them dialed in, almost like carp but blindcasting

I followed your blog, I also plan on adding it to the sidebar on my blogroll. Nice job!
