Sunsets

That's about all Lakeview Park was yesterday. A sunset.

Amadeo and I fished Lakeview yesterday, he's been looking at it thinking about how good it looks and all so we finally decided to fish it. I sat out there staring at my rods for 3 hours and I didn't get a single bite the whole time. Amadeo caught a few catfish but not much else was happening. I did get some cool sunset shots, so enjoy.

Going in the 'yak in the morning, there will be a yak post up before noon tomorrow

John's new PB buff

I hit Grapevine with John tonight. It wasn't that hot and the boat trouble wasn't bad. We set up around 6 then I spodded for about 30 minutes and we chucked lines in. I don't think 20 minutes had passed and john had a complete dropback. It wasn't fighting at all then it took off when it came to the net. It turned out to be John's new PB buff at 21-10.

I had a run that dropped off halfway in then a front blew through and the wind picked up so we headed out.

A little carp and buff action

Headed over to a different spot on Grapevine, one by Scott's landing marina, and carp fished for a few hours. It started out really slow but the fish finally turned on around 3 and I started catching a few. I stayed until 5 and landed 3 buffs, 2 carp, and a little baby channel cat. Most of them came on Banana maize on a regular hair rig.

I really love my new stuff, the Mat, Weigh sling, Net, Korda Krusha, and some other random things. The Net works great, I really liked having a bigger net width letting me be able to land fish easier. I fished for about 4 hours and didn't do great, but I finally got into some before I left. Today was also the first time I experimented with canned tuna in my method. I think that made the difference, even if it was only 1 can in a 2.5 gallon bucket. I'm planning on going back if it's not raining that much tomorrow. If it is, I might end up crappie fishing in a friend'd boat slip. Hope they are biting!

The Cliffs on Earth Day

I fished a 3 hour session today and got into some really nice buffs at the Island swim at the cliffs. Most of them came on strawberry flavored method on bolt rigs.
Ended up with 3 buffs, a little common, and a spotted bass.

Biggest was this 21-4 buff on a fruity plum pop up. Favorite. Bait. Ever.

"Swirly" the 12lb Helix buff on the fruity plum pop up.

8 or 9lb buff on Banana maize

Little common on Banana maize

Had a rosehip boilie and a drilled range cube out also but lost a few fish on each.

Oh, Happy Earth day! It was really nice outside today, especially after the sun went down and the wind died!

The Cliffs 4/9 and 4/10

I went to the Cliffs with Sherman and Miranda Saturday and Sunday. We lost a ridiculous number of rigs to rocks but we still caught some fish and had a good time.
13lb buff
Yes, your monitor color is right. Smallmouth! Grapevine rarity right here!

My new PB smallmouth buffalo at 26lbs 10oz!

Met this kid at the Cliffs and taught him how to carp fish. This was his first common.

And his new PB common at 10lbs

DAY 2

I was alone out there day 2, it was WINDY but quiet.
smaller common on Banana maize

Buff on a Fruity Plum pop up

Same fish.

10lb common on a boilie/maize rig. I don't think I've ever posted a pic of me in this hat. Seattle Sombrero! It looks really funny but I continue to wear it.

Grapevine 3/6

Haven't had much time lately (been sick!) and I haven't been fishing. Here's a trip from almost a week ago with Ryan and Chloe!

Lol!

Great day! I only posted the highlights. We got like 8 or 9 buffs each plus a few carp. Ryan got his PB buff and carp and I got a bunch of nice chunks.

First trip in the new Yak

Got out on Grapevine around 12 and stayed until 4. I hooked 1 fish all day on a Black Angel jig and broke it off when it made a run under the boat and I couldn't react fast enough. But, I got a few great pics of the new kayak. Enjoy!
